The powder pigment can be added to resins in a proportion of 3-8% to get consistent coloured epoxy resin.
The epoxy pigments come in a range of 12 standard colours. Storing the solid pigment only is a cost-effective way to always have a stock of different colours of epoxy pigments, instead of holding the big drums of epoxy in various colours.
Colouring the epoxy primer and base is mainly required to provide the installer with visual control of coverage uniformity.
When installing a metallic epoxy system it is always effective to have a unicolour base for the design metallic coat. The epoxy pigment can be mixed with clear epoxy to achieve a uniform, colour block base for the following decorative coats.
The most popular base colours are black, dark grey and light grey.
Slate Grey pigment will colour the epoxy in a dark grey shade, providing a good base for darker design finishes, or for pearlescent metallic coats.
Suggested mixing ration is of 3 - 10 % on resin, depending on the system and requirements.
